Music. Sounds for a life less ordinary

It's no secret I've always made music, but hardly ever shared it so this is a first. Find me on Sptofy, Apple Music and all major streaming platforms. Here's my artist profile.

London-based liquid funk aficionado Oxime, aka Cecilia Weckstrom, is an emerging artist bridging jazz, electronica and drum and bass. Her focus is timeless sounds that fuel deep creative work or journeys on land or in the air.

The artist name Oxime derives from the chemical name of nerve agent antidotes. "Oxime perfectly describes the role of music production in my life. It is the balance to the force, the antidote to whatever is going on and a way to recharge", says Cecilia.

The spark to become a self-taught producer and songwriter was programming a Commodore 64 computer to play classical music as a child. Infusing synths and acoustic instruments into evolving textures have been part of productions ever since.

Moving to London from her native Finland in the 90s coincided with the rise of liquid drum & bass pioneers, such as LTJ Bukem, Fabio & Grooverider, Omni Trio, Big Bud, DJ Marky and others. Other important influences include Bonobo, Four Tet, Zero 7, Ludovic Navarre aka St Germain, and recently, organic house downtempo artists.
